Polychrome Kakiemon Cup

This is a superb cup made by Chantilly around 1735. It is made of softpaste porcelain and painted with a polychrome flower design in the Kakiemon colors and style. There is even a little bug and some nice trim on the handle. The flowers are superb and after their Japanese originals as are the colors off course. The cup is in great condition with some tiny firing spots along the handle, a crack to the bottom end of the handle (a common issue on early cups) and a chip to the foot ring. The main body is perfect as are the colors! It is marked underneath with the reddish hunting horn mark as shown. The piece is 1.875 inches wide and 2.375 inches in diameter. A rare find and a real beauty! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
