Polychrome Floral Ointment Pot

This is rare a pot a fard or pommade (for makeup or ointment cream) made by Chantilly in the first half of the 18th century . One does not come across polychrome pieces by this rare maker often and they are always a treat! The piece is made of soft paste porcelain and is hand painted with two floral arrangements - one to either side as well as two tiny bugs to the main body. A rare non Kakiemon decorated pieces by them. Same exact designs to the lid with a superb and typical finial of a fruit with its stems and leaves. The lidded pot is in decent condition with the main body being perfect besides the usual tiny manufacturing imprefections and the lid was broken in half and reglued with a sliver missing on one side. This would be a super easy repair for a good restorer to make it look perfect again. The bottom piece is marked with the red hunting horn mark as shown. The pot with the lid in place measures 2.875 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
