Chantilly Blue & White Plate

This is a plate made by Chantilly around 1780. It is made of softpaste and painted with the typical blue and white design you see on their ware after the Sevres decree disallowed using more than one color at a time. Nice blue trim as gilding was not allowed either. The plate is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue hunting horn mark, an underglaze blue letter B and an incised letter P. The plate is almost 9.5 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches tall.
