Interesting Set of Knives

This is a set of twelve knifes probably made by Chantilly in the 18th century. Someone must have collected the handles and then added new blades in the 20th century. The first knife has a nice design to the handle in the Kakiemon style including a flowering tree. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in great condition with a little wear to the orange "rock" at the end of the handle. The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The second knife has a nice design to the handle in the Kakiemon style including a flowering tree. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in great condition with a section of the green enamel on the branch of the tree having flaked off. The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The third knife has a nice design to the handle in the Kakiemon style including a flowering tree. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in great condition with a tiny section of the green enamel on the branch of the tree having flaked off and a round spot in the "rock" is white not sure if that is from the making or has flaked off. Glaze flaw to the very bottom end of the handle. The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The fourth knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in OK condition with lots of the green colored enamel having flaked off over time and some wear to the glaze at both ends. The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The fifth knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in OK condition with some of the color enamel having flaked off over time and some wear to the glaze at the top end. The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The sixth knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in decent condition with a few small spots of the color enamel having flaked off over time and a 1.25 inch long hairline going into the handle starting at the ferrule end. The metal blade is not marked. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The seventh knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in decent condition with a spot towards the bottom end of the handle where it appears to have stuck to something else during the firing process, the end towards the ferrule has no glaze and there is a crack going from the ferrule end down into the handle for about 2.25 inches, over a bit and then up again. Small sections along that crack are missing but it does not appear to ahve even come off completely. The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The eighth knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in OK condition with some fine hairlines all along the top part near the ferrule with a small section of porcelain missing. Still displays very well! The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The ninth knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in superb condition with jut some minor glaze impurities. The metal blade is marked with an impressed A.Peter. The knife is 9.375 inches long of which the visible part of the porcelain handle is just a touch over 3.5 inches long. The tenth knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly. The porcelain part is in good condition with the glaze missing along the end by the ferrule and two small spots of flaked enamel and some minor wear. The elventh knife has a superb Kakiemon flower design to the handle. The ferrule in between the handle and blade is made of silver that has oxidized slightly.
