Kakiemon Lid

This is a superb lid made by Chantilly in the early to mid 18th century. It is made of soft paste porcelain and painted with a really nice Kakiemon style floral arrangement as well as two insects / butterflies and a typical floral finial with its leaves. Could be used as a repalcement piece for a teapot or even a pot de creme or ointment pot. The piece is in great condition with a tiny chip to the edge as well as a few nibbles to the ring that would sit inside the main piece. It displays perfectly and would do the job well! It is not marked underneath which is normal as the lids would never have been marked. The lid has a diameter of 2.5 inches with the outer diameter of the underside ring being just over 2.125 inches. The height without the udnerside ring is about 1.25 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
