Caughley Fisherman Pattern Creamer

This is a nice early creamer made by Caughley in the 18th century. Looking at it I would say it was still made during the Salopian period so around 1775. It is nicely decorated with their under glaze blue fisherman pattern with a nice trim to the inside edge. Typical handle shape. The cream jug is in good condition with a small stain to the top left corner where the beak shaped spout meets the body and a slightly rough tip though that is how it was made. The foot ring has two chips to the inside that do not affect the piece when on display! Odd is that the paste has lots of lumps to it like blisters in the paste to the outside and inside. They must be impurities in the paste. It's not obvious when on displays but you can feels and see them when handling the piece. It's a really ncie early piece and not that easy to find either. The piece is 3.5 inches tall and has a diameter of about 2.375 inches. It is not marked underneath but that is not very unusual at all. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
