Temple Pattern Lidded Sugar Dish

This is a large lidded sugar dish made by Caughley in the 18th century around 1775 during the Salopian period. I have the matching creamer on the site as well if anyone is interested in a set. Both the main body and lid are decorated in under glaze blue with the temple pattern as well as some added gilding. Blue trim to the inside edge of the bowl. Both are in nice condition with a small chip tot he edge of the lid which was gilded over to hide is almost perfectly. It does display perfectly! Wear to the gilding on the top edge of the main body since that is where the lid sits but it doesn't show when the lid is in place. The underside of the bowl is marked with the S + in under glaze blue as shown. The suagr dish with the lid in place is 4.5 inches tall and has a diameter of 4.5 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $449
