Nice Blue Design Plate

This is a nice early plate made by Caughley in the 18th century. It is made of soft paste porcelain and hand painted with a fancy blue design all over the plate. The center has an Asian influenced design of some flowers over rocks while the nicely shaped rim has three different panels of designs to it with just some blue space in between.I do believe this is called the scholar's rock pattern and is quite nice. Hand painted instead of many of their pattern which are transfer printed. The plate is in super condition with an occasional firing flaw but no real damage. The worst is a brown spot to the wel edge at about 9 o'clock. A nice addition is the design to the underside of the plate! It is marked with a blue crescent mark as shown. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 8.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
