Amstel Scattered Flowers Plate

This is a soup bowl / plate made by Niever Amstel in about 1809. Niever Amstel was founded by Georg Dommer in 1808 and even though they were subsidized by the Dutch Queen they already closed in 1810 which means there isn't much of their goodies out there! The plate is nicely handpainted with lots of scattered flowers and has a nicely shaped rim. The plate is in good condition with a little bit of wear and a small flat chip to the underside rim which you cannot spot from the top. The plate is marked with the underglaze blue Amstel mark that is quite rare and an incised L o 3. The plate is 1.375 inches tall and 9.875 inches in diameter so a nice size.
