Vienna Workshop / Wiener Werkstaetten Girl on Rooster Figurine

This is a figurine made by the Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätte around the 1910. The figure was modelled by Ferdinand Doblinger and is of a young blond girl riding on a rooster covered with lots of colorful flowers on a simple yet elegant base with a green top and grey sides. Made at the height of the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period it fits in perfectly into this time. The girl is holding on with one hand on the comb of the bird and the other the feathers of the tail. Really nicely modeled and hand painted. The figurine is marked on the bottom inside with their impressed mark WKKW mark in a triangle, impressed model number 1098 and number 34 and 4. A rare piece that one will not find again easily. The piece is 9.125 inches tall, 7.5 inches wide and 5 inches deep. The piece displays nicely but has the typical crazing to the glaze of the white areas and the head was off and glued back on. This could easily be hidden perfectly by a restorer if desired. One spot of missing glaze on the end of a tail feather. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $249
