Vienna Workshop Dante

This is a large and superb figurine made by the Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätte around 1920. The figurine was designed by Montini and is modeled as Dante, the writer, holding a book. I love the modeling and colors on this one. Plain yet supremely elegant. All handpainted off course. He is marked on the bottom with the impressed Wiener Werkstaette mark, impressed Austria as well as the model number 1425 over 4. He is rather large being 15 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 4 inches deep. The figurine is in great condition with a little bit of crazing in the white area mostly which is normal on old ceramic pieces and does not take away from the figurine. There are also three small glaze chips to the bottom base rim. They are not bad at all! Please email me for more information or photos.
