Wehsner Pill Box

This is a great porcelain pill or patch box made by the Dresden maker Wehsner. It is handpainted with a scene of the Madonna and Christ on the top of the lid and some superb raised gilt and white dots design on a cobalt blue ground along the sides of the box. I know the trim design is differnt on the top and bottom but they do belong together. I ahve seen a few of these over the years and I guess they liked doing them this way! A really great quality piece and to top it off it is in superb condition. The box is 1.25 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The piece is marked with their script W in a shield shaped box mark with Dresden and Germany underneath. It dates to around 1900. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
