Wallendorf Saucer

This is a saucer made by Wallendorf around 1790. Wallendorf was founded in 1763 and is one of the few makers of the Thuringia region that are still around today. This saucer is handpainted with a scene in puce in the center with a gold, black and puce trim around it. The rim also has a gold and puce trim around it. It is in good condition with some wear to the gold around the center scene. The saucer is marked underneath with the underglaze blue W mark. It is 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter.
