Wallendorf Red Rose Sugar Dish

This is a lidded sugar dish made by Elgersburg around 1780. It is hand painted with the Ostfriesen design called " Rot Dresmer " or Ostfriesische Rose made up of roses in pink, another flower in orange and yellow as well as some green leaf work. I really thought it was made by Wallendorf as it is a very typical decoration for them but apparently Elgersburg made it the same and they are very similar! . The porcelain itself has a ribbed design to it typical to Thuringia makers of this period. The set is in perfect condition with a touch of wear and a bit of staining to the inside unglazed top edge. A couple of extra porcelain blobs in one spot on the lid edge. The dish is 3.75 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. Neither piece is marked but that is not that unusual. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $199
