Richard Ablott Welsh Scenic Plaque

This is a superb nice sized scenic plaque painted by Richard Ablott and most likely made at Derby in the mid 19th century. The piece is superbly painted and definitely after an engraving by the artist Henry Gastineau in about 1835. It is of the Welsh Rhaeadr-fawr waterfall at Abergwyngregyn in Caernarvonshire , Wales . The plaque was at some point attributed to the famous miniature porcelain painter Henry Bone but looking a little deeper this would be impossible since he was dead by the time the engraving let alone the porcelain plaque was done. The style and type looks much more like it was done by Richard Ablott in my opinion. Either way the piece is of a very nice quality with the waterfall in the background, some people walking and riding on a path toward the right side, a bridge in the center, a house with smoke coming out of its chimney on the left and some cows and sheep a scattered about. A nice them that is superbly executed! The plaque is in superb condition as shown with just a very thing flat chip to the bottom edge which is not obvious at all! It is not signed by the artist just labeled with the title of the scene in the back - View near ABer Caernarvonshire. What is also itneresting is the scetch of two dogs on the back side which is why I think it was attributed to Henry Bone since he liked to sketch things I guess. The plaque 7.25 inches wide and 5.5 inches tall. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
