Volkstedt Pink Strawflower Pot

This is a coffee pot made by Volkstedt in the 18th century. It is handpainted with a puce strawflower / onion type design which is a lot harder to find than their usually underglaze blue decorations. Some yellow highlights to the flowers. Really a nice piece which has the ribbed design to the paste that is typical for the Thuringia area. It is marked underneath with the early puce single pitchfork mark as well as three lines along the footring. The coffee pot is in superb condition with a small chip to the rim of the lid and a bit of crazing mostly to the underside rim of the lid. The piece is 9.25 inches tall, 5.75 inches long and 4.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.
