Volkstedt Devil Rider

This is a figurine made by Volkstedt around 1925. Volkstedt was founded in 1762 and is one of the few makers of the Thuringia region that are still around today. This figurine is of a lady in a belly dancer type outfit riding a gilded devil. Very much in the Art Deco taste and unlike anything else I have ever seen. I usually prefer the 18th century stuff but this one was a must have :) Surprising amount of detail for such a small figurine. This figurine is in good condition with a small flat chip to the edge which was gilded over and is not distracting at all. The piece is marked with the underglaze mark used from 1915 to about 1936. The piece is 3.75 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.
