Volkstedt Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Volkstedt around 1760. They are handpainted with the puce Indian flowers motif that was very popular back then. Both have the ribbed design to the paste very common in the Thuringia area makers. The cup is also painted on the inside. The set is in super condition with some light wear and an almost chip to the cup rim where the chip never actually came off. It is pretty small being less than 0.25 inches wide. Gold rim is mostly gone. Both pieces are marked underneath with the crossed hayforks in underglaze blue. The saucer also has an impressed letter G and the cup an impressed S. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.
