Volkstedt Boerner Figurine #3

This is a figurine made by Volkstedt around 1920. Volkstedt was founded in 1762 and is one of the few makers of the Thuringia region that are still around today. This figurine is special because it was made by the famous Emil Paul Börner who later worked at Meissen and became one of the most famous modelers of this time period. This is a neat figurine of a cherub / angel riding on top of a dolphin. Lots of detail and just the right amount of well placed colors to make this a very elegant figurine. Very much in the Art Nouveau taste. This figure is in perfect condition. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue mark used from 1915 to about 1936. Also impressed EB (for Emil Borner) 127 and another impressed mark I cannot quite make out. Black artist / painter's mark Wu as shown. The figure is 7 inches tall, 6.25 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.

Price is $849
