Volkstedt Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a great cup and saucer made by Volkstedt around 1770. Both pieces are hand painted with a great scene of a bird sitting on a branch surrounded by a puce trim held up with a bow with some flowers all around the sides and two flowers on the sides of the cup as well as one on the inside bottom. Gold trim to the edges. The set is in good condition but sadly there is a hairline to the saucer rim and a crack on the bottom end of the handle (It was never off!). Displays very well! Both pieces are marked underneath with the crossed hayforks in blue as shown. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.125 inches in diameter.
