Shepherd & Shepherdess

This is a superb figurine made by Royal Vienna around 1760. It is of a shepherd and sheperdess sitting together with their dog in front of them. The gnetleman is teaching the lady to play the flute and there is a basket of grapes between his feet. A very cute piece. It displays very well but is missing a tree that used to be behind them and there is a bit of damage to the flute but otherwise it is amazingly well preserved! A lage firing crack to the underside which does not affect the piece at all. There is a rough spot on his hat - maybe a flower was attached there or it is a firing flaw not sure. The figure is 4 inches tall, 4.125 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue shield mark and an impressed O or Q. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $849
