Valenciennes Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice cup and saucer possible made by Valenciennes in the 18th century. Definitely French but could be from another Paris area factory like Locre thouch the style really leads me to believe it was made by Valenciennes. The factory was founded in 1785 by Fauquez and Lamoniary but it was short lived until about 1795 and then again from 1800 until 1810. For a short time Vanier was the director. The set is hand painted with a nice scene in different shades of black around the edge of the saucer and around the body of the cup. They are quite nice and include buildings, boats, people and trees in a landscape surrounding. Superb gold trim to the edges and some gilding to the handle. The cup and saucer are in great condition with just some minor wear to the gilding around the well of the saucer and the edge of the cup. The cup is just under 2.625 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall with a diameter of 5.5 inches. The set is unmarked but I have had unmarked pieces by them before where one piece had a mark and the other did not so it's not unheard of. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
