Unknown Brown Ground Scenic Cup& Saucer

This is an interesting cup and saucer made by an unknown maker in the 18th century. I am fairly sure it is Italian by the paste but I have not seen anything like it. The set is handpainted with a brown ground color that seems to have been meant to imitate the famous woodgrain design also called trompe-l'oeil and it has a similar type of scene design to it as well. Each piece has two black scenes of buidlings in landscapes surrounded by a black frame. The handle shape is unusual and interesting and should lead me to the maker eventually :) The set is in good condition with a little flaking to the bown ground color on the cup and a fine hairline to the saucer edge. Lots of flaws to the paste which can mainly be seen on the saucer udnerside including a large spot in the center where it must have stuck to the kiln. The set displays nicely. The cup is 2.125 inches tall and 2.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.5 inches in diameter. Both are marked with a number 92 in black. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
