Volkstedt Polychrome Flowers Sugar Dish

This is a nice sugar bowl with its lid made in the Thuringia region most likely by Volkstedt in about 1765. The piece is nicely hand painted with a larger floral arrangement on both the lid and the main body as well as some small flowers scattered throughout. Nice puce finial to the lid and a bit of a relief design to the edges. The piece displays perfectly but both the lid and main part have had some small chips restored on the edges. The piece with its lid is 4 inches tall and 4.5 inches in diameter. The lid is a tiny bit smaller and loose but definitely the correct lid - it is an early piece for this maker for sure! Marked underneath with an imitation of the Meissen crossed swords as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $249
