Book End Slide w/ Porcelain Plaques

This is a really nice book slide with a porcelain plaque on either end. No idea where it was made but it is likely from the mid to late 19th century. The wood looks to be Coromandel / Calamander or at least something that looks like that. Either hinged end has a nice porcelain plaque to it - the one of the girl portrait looks to be fully hand painted while the one of the lady dancer has the outlines and the rest is hand painted. Each plaque is framed with some sort of silverish metal. It is a great looking piece for sure. Victorian era luxury items like this combined the newest inventions with the best artistic trends of the period to make some really fun items like this! The piece is in great condition with some wear from use but nothing that makes you cringe by any means :) It displays very well and is quite useful. In fact it will hold books in my office for now! The piece is 14 inches long, 5.5 inches deep and 6.625 inches tall when open. It can be extended to 22 inches. The underside has a bunch of glue residue so it likely had some velvet under it originally. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
