St. Petersburg Banquet Service Plate

This is a rare porcelain bottle cooler or large open vase from the Gothic service made by the famous St. Petersburg Imperial factory during the reign of Nickolai the 1st . The piece is hand painted with a superb and colorful design to the top which reminds me of stained glass with a simpler design to the bottom more reminiscent of Paris porcelain and some gold trim. The handles have a nice shape and design to them as well and are entirely gilded. Sadly the piece has seen better days and an old nasty restoration isn't helping it either. There are two visible chips to the top rim with another one (I think) hidden under the restoration. One handle appears to have been broken off cleanly with a chip to the top part and repaired and off course there is plenty of old nasty discolored overpaint. So this piece needs a little TLC but it would be amazing to bring it back to perfect because it would be a very stunning display piece! Also nice to have a more important piece from an important service and one from the original period from when it was first made instead of a later replacement piece. The piece is marked with the blue N I mark under the crown as shown with an old sticker showing it was once part of a Russian Imperial Exhibit . The vase is 8 inches tall with a top diameter of 7.875 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
