St. Petersburg Imperial Anichkov Palace Soup Plate

This is a great porcelain plate made by the famous imperial factory of St. Petersburg during the reign of Alexander III in 1885 (I believe the year is ahrd to make out). His reign was from 1881 until 1894. This is a soup plate from the banquet service of Tsarevich Aleksander Aleksandrovich (Later Czar Alexander III). This service was ordered for the future Alexander III while he was still a Grand Duke and was used at the Anichkov Palace in St. Petersburg. The plate is decorated with a superb red and gold design along the rim with a central design in the bowl of the plate. His double A under the imperial crown cipher / cypher / monogram is displayed prominently along the rim. Gilded foot ring which is always a sure sign of quality! The plate is in great condition with just a touch of wear to the gilding mainly to two sections along the very edge as shown and a star glaze line to a spot on the underside which does NOT go through to the front! It displays perfectly! The dish is marked with the under glaze green A III mark under the crown with the year mark of 85 (I think) underneath as shown as well as two single green dots along the edge common to the authentic pieces and still a mystery as to why they are there. Impressed number 15. The plate is 1.875 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
