St. Petersburg Bird Scene Plate #2

This is a superb porcelain plate made by the famous St. Petersburg factory during the reign of Alexander II in 1893. Not from a service I am familiar with but that makes it even more special. Not something you will find again anytime soon. The plate is hand painted with a superb bird scene on a light blue ground with a white center. The bird (not sure what kind it is) is sitting on a branch which has leaves and pink & white flowers to it spreading around half the plate and there is another branch with its leaves and superb large pink flower going the other way. A butterfly opposite to the bird, gold trim around the center and a superb gold trim that is partially raised around the edge finish off this superb piece. The flowers and bird have white raised details to them that makes them look even nicer. Gold trim to the outside of the foot ring that is always a sure sign of quality! One of the nicest and most unusual pieces by them I have come across in a while. The plate is in great condition with just a minor touch of stacking wear around the edge of the well and a little wear to the bird. It displays superbly! It is marked with the under glaze green A II mark under the crown with the year mark of 93 underneath as shown. It also has two green dots and a single green dot along the foot ring one often finds on authentic pieces by this maker though no one seems to know what they represent. The plate is 1 inch tall and 8.75 inches in diameter. I have another matching plate with a different bird scene also on the site if anyone wants a pair. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
