Original Period Fortune Teller Figurine

This is a rare original period figurine of a Gypsy Fortune Teller and an elegant young lady originally modeled by Natalya Danko of 1922 and made during this original period by the State Porcelain Factory Petrograd ( Used to be St. Petersburg Imperial factory ) in Soviet Russia. The pieces from this suprematism / avant-guarde period are very rare! The figure is superbly modeled with the older Roma lady sitting on the base dressed in very coloful clothes. She has a pink head scarf on decprated with hand painted flowers, a large shawl thrown over her right shoulder decorated with a colorful design, a turquoise top, pink floral skirt and yellow apron. She is holding one playing card in her left hand with some more on her lap. The base has a single card on it with flowers and leaves covering the rest. The fancy younger lady reminds me of a flapper girl of this period with her wearing a light blue dress with a matching hat with roses on her head. Fancy purse in her right hand. This figure is one of those pieces that just 'speaks' to you. Just amazing! These pieces were also produced later on but the details are different and the quality not nearly as nice! The figure displays perfectly but the younger lady has had a clean break to her neck which has been repaired almost invisibly. The figurine is marked underneath with the over glaze green hammer, sickle and cog mark, date '1922' over No. 288/2 and incised modeller's signature as shown. The piece is 7.5 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 2.875 inches deep. If you collect these pieces this one here is a must have! A rare chance to get an original period piece!
