St.James Perfume Bottle & Snuff Box & Seal

This is a very rare treat - so rare that I have not found another example of this exact piece. I do have a picture I added of this shape as just a perfume bottle but that is all I could find. The piece is a snuff box with a perfume bottle top and a seal as the foot. It was made by the famous Girl in a Swing factory at St James by the Huguenot Charles Gouyn who formerly was a founder along with Nicholas Sprimont of the famous Chelsea factory. St. James is famous for their toys - miniature items like snuff boxes, perfumes, seals, etc. and was around from about 1749-1759 so not long at all! This piece here combines them all which is very neat! The bottom part looks like a vase with handpainted flowers on both front and back and a ring handle on either side. This is the snuff box part. The top looks like the flowers in the vase. 3D miniature porcelain flowers and their leaves modelled and handpainted to perfection. This is the perfume part. The foot is the seal. It is either made of Agate or Carnelian and has a head of a Greek or Phoenecian carved into it or something like that. The mounts are gold. The inside of the lid is handpainted with flowers as well and there is a tiny flower on the bottom inside and a leaf on the side inside likely to hide an imperfection. The foot where the goldmounts for the seal are has flowers painted on it as well but these are hidden by the mounts mostly. Not sure if the seal was original to it or added by the original owner but it is certainly from that period as well! The piece is in amazing condition - there are very few chips at all to the flowers the biggest being to the large yellow one up front and there are a few nibbles to leaves and a a few small ones missing plus 3 are reglued. None of this is obvious on display at all and you need to look closely to see it after searching for a while :) The original lid got lost and I had a perfect replacement added to it. The seal on the bottom has a crack from top to bottom and from that crack to the right side is another shorter crack but it's tight and won't go anywhere! The piece is 3.375 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1.375 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
