Enamel Basket

This is something a bit different and unlike anything I have seen before. It is a small reticulated basket made of enamel on copper metal handpainted with a large floral arrangement in the center bottom as well as lots of small flowers and a raised gold design around the center, the top rim and where the reticulated pieces meet. The outside is a nice turquoise color. I would say it was made in England in the late 18th or early 19th century. Likely in the South Staffordshire region. The quality of this piece is superb and the flowers are very detailed. Sadly the piece is not perfect but displays nicely. One side has damage to a section of the top rim with the enamel in a thin stip gone. The other side must have been dropped at some point and the enamel has flaked in spots and the metal bent. It is more noticable from the outside than from the inside and I think the rarity easily makes up for the damage and it should be a fairly easy fix for a good restorer. There are some other very minor damages but these are not bad at all. The basket is not marked underneath but has a very old collection or dealer sticker underneath. It is 1.125 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
