Battersea Enamel Round Scenic Box

This is a really nice turquoise ground Battersea enamel pill / patch / snuff box / tabatiere made in England in the 18th century. Probably in the Bilston area of Southern Staffordshire . They are famous for their enamel boxes, etc. This is just a really nice scenic piece with the top having that turquise ground color around the outside and a nice scene in the center including a couple with some sheep, a tree and a ruin in the background. Raised gold trim around the scene. The outside of the bottom part has the same ground color as well as two floral scenes and more gold trim. The udnerside has a single flower to it on white ground. Brass hinges as far as I can tell possibly gilded. The box is in really good condition I think with just a single line to the outside wall and a few on the inside but none are bad. The hinge is broken in the back and it is only holding on on one side but that would be an easy fix for any jeweler if need be. It closes perfectly. A really nicely done piece in great condition! The box is 1.125 inches tall and 1.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
