Pearlware Falstaff Figurine

This is a fun figurine made of Pearlware in the Staffordshire region the early 19th century. The figure is of the actor James Quin as Sir John Falstaff and while it is not a rare figurine, as one can find many renditions by different makers, I have never seen one with the sword still intact. It is always broken and resotred or replaced so I was a bit excited about finding him! The figurine is superbly modeled and painted and looks as good as the porcelain models one sees much more often. The figurine is of the fictional character Sir John Falstaff who is holding his shield in his left hand and a sword in his right hand. The figurine is in great condition with just some flaking to the paint as shown in the pictures. Mostly to the back green stump. A common issue with this sort of ware. Some minor firing flaws and a minor small chip or two to the base. A truly nice piece in better condition than most. As is normal the figurine is not marked except for a number 25 to the udnerside as shown. The figurine is 8.5 inches tall and the base is about 3.375 inches square. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
