Pair of Creamware Cat Figurines

This is a rare proper pair of creamware pottery cat figurines sitting on a green pillow with pink trim made in the Staffordshire region in the early 19th century. It is not easy to find these as a pair and they are a really nice example of this sort of ware. One sees the dogs much more often! Each cat is nicely modeled and decorated with a black decoration and a copper luster bow around their necks. Each figurine is in superb condition with some minor edge nibbles to the corners of the pillows, one has a glaze flake to the black on the back of her neck, a couple of manufacturing flaws like stray paint or a lump or bump to the paste and a firing crack to the bottom edge of one cat and one figure has fine crazing throughout while the other has some craze lines in her belly region as shown and a possible hairline to one leg though it is probably just a stained craze line. The set displays perfectly and is really nice! As is the norm neither figure is marked. One of the figures is 7.25 inches tall while the other is a touch shorter while the pillows are 3 inches deep by 3.625 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
