Pearlware Leopard Figurine

This is a really fun figurine of a leopard made in the Staffordshire region in the late 18th / early 19th century. The Staffordshire maker just plain out copied the Derby model so they are very similar except this one here is made of Pearlware instead of porcelain. The figure is very well modeled with one paw up in the air while sitting on a nice base with flowers and leaves on it and a tree stump in the back as support. Perfectly painted to make this one cute piece! The figure is in good condition with the lifted up leg being restored and the tail also has had some work done to it but it was done very well. One of the ears was also worked on and some of the flowers are chipped, one is missing, a flat chip to the base underside edge and one leaf is chipped. Some minor paint flakes but still a really superb figurine that displays perfectly! He is unmarked except for a black number 8 on the underside as shown. The figurine is just under 3 inches tall, 1.75 inches deep and 4 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
