Round Scenic Plaque

This is a nice round scenic plaque made in the Staffordshire region of England in the early 19th century. The piece has a groove in the back with a metal wire around the tinner part so one can hang it on the wall. The plaque is fully glazed and has a hand painted scene to the front that is quite nice. It includes a ruined building with two people in front of it with another person hiking along a trail in the foreground. A castle to the background and lots of greenery and rocks, etc. all around. Gold trim surrounds the scene with a bit of white showing along the edge. Really a nice scene! The plaque displays very well and is in great condition with a large long line where the glaze had separated during the firing but was covered with paint/gilding during the second firing so it's not all that obvious when displayed. A couple of small black firing spots normal to these early pieces but otherwise it is superb. Not something one comes across often at all! The plaque is unmarked which is the norm around this period of English porcelain. It is 0.75 inches thick and has a diameter of about 8 inches.
