Figural Mug w/ Frog Inside

This is a superb figural mug made of some sort of Creamware like pottery in the Staffordshire region around the very early 19th century. The cup has an attached pedestal and is in the shape of the head of the god bacchus. He has a beard and a grapevine wreath around the top of his head. The piece has lots of molded details to it and is hand painted perfectly. Nice yellow and blue trim to the top, bottom and handle. My favorite part however is the surprise frog modeled on the inside as shown. The mug is in perfect condition with just a spot of wear to the tip of his nose and each cheek. The piece is unmarked underneath but that's normal. It is 4.75 inches tall, 3.75 inches from nose to handle and about 2.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
