Bilston / Battersea Thimble

This is a superb little sewing thimble made in England in the 18th century. It was probably made in the Bilston area of Southern Staffordshire. They are famous for their enamel pieces. This piece has some nicely handpainted flowers all around on a white enamel ground color which is probably on copper. The bottom ring is gold colored but not marked so I am not sure metal it is or if it is plated. Cute little piece and not something you come across often. It is in decent condition with hairlines to the enamel as shown. Nothing missing. It displays nicely and is rare enough that I had to have it :) The thimble is 0.75 inches tall and has a bottom diameter of just under 0.625 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
