Enamel Snuff Box / Perfume Bottle Combo

This is a superb pill or snuff box and perfume bottle combo (or scent flakon and bonboniere if you wish) made in England in the late 18th century in the Bilston area of Southern Staffordshire which is famous for their Battersea enamel pieces. I have not seen many combination pieces like this so I was thrilled to own it. This piece has a nicely hand painted floral arrangement to either side of the main body as well as the lid on white ground while the rest of the peice has a light yellow ground color to it with some raised trim in white over that. The hinged are silver in color but I ccould not find a mark so I will leave it at that. The piece is in great condition with some hairlines to the enamel on the inside as shown. The outside is superb! The hinged are in good shape and the lids close nicely but are a bit loose. The underside of the box has some odd resin to it - not sure why that is or if something was groundflat later on. It stand well on a flat surface so no issues there. This is a superb piece that is quite decorative and elegant. The piece is 3.125 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1.25 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
