Enamel Cane

This is a rare cane made in England around 1780. Probably in the Bilston area of Southern Staffordshire. They are famous for their enamel boxes, etc. This cane has a handle that is enamelled in light blue with a raised white design on top of the light blue and a landscape scene in the front. That enameled part is held in by silver on the bottom connecting to the wooden cane that is made of some kind of woven material and a gold metal (brass probably) to the top. The very top has a superb design of a miniature mosaic of a flower basket. Those are also extremely rare! Sadly the cane is not perfect. The wooden part has some glaze coming off, the enameled scene has a piece under the tree missing and two cracks and the micro mosaic has a spot missing as well as some cracks. But it is still an extremely rare example and complete. The handle part is 2.75 inches tall and 1.25 inches in diameter. The wooden part is another 34 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
