Enamel Buttons / Earrings

This is a rare pair of earrings made from buttons that were made in the South Staffordshire region of England around 1780. Probably in Bilston. The set is hand enameled with a pink ground color that has raised white dots & a raised yellow (meant to look like gilding) trim design around a center design of a nice landscape scene with a figure in it. These are of superb quality! I know these used to be buttons because when I bought them there were two more of this set that were not converted and were still buttons! An extremely nice pair and in great condition. There is some nibbling around the edges but they are perfect from the front. The nibbles likely stem from the conversion into clip on earrings! The pieces are 1.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
