Drunken Vicar Figurine

This is a pearlware figurine of drunken gentleman being helped home by another gentleman made in the Staffordshire region in the 19th century. He is meant to be a vicar / pastor / priest and the sober gentleman his clerk though I ahve seen this figure called the good vicar and Moses . The base is really nice with a puce and blue design to the front and a tree stump to the back. The clerk is holding a lantern to guide the way home while the vicar has a bottle of booze under his right arm and a cup in his left hand. The figure is about 8.5 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 4 inches deep. The piece is in superb condition with just some crazing throughout the legs, hands and faces but nothing that distracts from the piece. A flaw to the pain on the vicar's left shoulder and some black staining to the clerks left hand and a spot on his leg from when they were made. Unmarked which is normal. Typical bluish tint to the glaze easily seen underneath which is also crazed. Old label to the underside. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
