Lidded Bird Eggbox

This is a really neat box most likely made in the Staffordshire region in the mid to late 19th century. It is superbly modeled with the bottom as a basket and the top part and egg shape with an amazingly detailed pair of birds actually pigeons (or doves depending where you're from) on it. The bottom basket part is glazed but the top egg part is unglazed. A really nice peice of a superb size and amazingly in perfect condition. It is about 9 inches tall, 8.75 inches long and 6.375 inches wide. The pieces are not marked except for a black number 16 or 1 and 6 underneath the basket and a 9 underneath the lid.
