Bilston / Battersea Miniature Enamel Box Pendant

This is a superb little piece made in England in the 18th century. It was probably made in the Bilston area of Southern Staffordshire. They are famous for their enamel pieces. This piece is a tiny little box meant to be worn as a pendant on a chain. It is a miniature version of the snuff boxes one sees much more often. The piece has some nicely handpainted flowers all around on a white enamel ground color which is seems to be done on copper. The mounts are gold washed bronze I think. A very cute little piece and not something you come across often if ever. It is in great condition with the gold wash worn a bit as is the white enamel in some areas or it might be from the making with tiny firing black spots here and there. Looks much worse in the pics since they are way bigger than the box is! Displays perfectly! The little box pendant 0.75 inches tall, 0.875 inches wide and 0.75 inches deep. It is unmarked which is normal! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
