Spode Welsh Scene Bough Pot

This is a superb bulb / bough / flower pot made by Spode in the early very 19th century. A typical shape for them and it is superbly hand painted with a large scene to the front and lots of nice gilding. The scene includes a river running center with two people to the foreground and some building in a nice landscape. The peice sits on three ball feet and has a wavy edge to the top. Really superb - bummer it is missing its top which is almost always the case. It has five little flower holders to the bottom inside. When I came across this piece I was thrilled! Just a really nice piece to look at and amazingly it is in great condition! Some wear to the gilding mainly to the very top edge and one minor chip that I just saw now to the top edge on the right side where it meets the back. Not obvious at all. One of the flower holders to the bottom inside has a crack. The piece is about 5.625 inches tall, 7.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. It is unmarked as to the maker but has the name of the scene in red underneath - Carnarvan Carnarvanshire Wales in script. Old dealer sticker as well.
