Spode Royal Order of the Thistle Plate

This is a very interesting plate made by Spode between 1821 and 1833. I cannot find another like it so I am unsure if this belonged to the royal household under George IV and was used for the banquets when the medals were given out or if it was given as a present to the recipient of the medal. Either way it is one of the nicest pieces of Spode I have come across. The plate is hand painted with the Royal Coat of Arms of the united Kingdom to the top of the rim including the motto of the British monarch - dieu et mon droit , the lion and the unicorn and the rest of the royal armorial. The rest of the rim has a really nice olive green ground color to it with roses as well as thistles hand painted in gold withraised details to it that look amazing. The center has a design of the order of the thistle including the writing NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT ( no one attacks me with impunity ) which is the motto of Scotland and of the Order of the Thistle with a nice thistle design in the center. All hand painted as well. The edge of the well has a gold and green thistle design all around like a necklance holding the medallion on the bottom part of the rim with the insignia of the order of the thistle and Scotland around a central design of a monk holding a cross. It's a neat piece and definitely rare. It looks stunning. The plate in perfect condition with maybe a tiny spot of use marks but as nice as they come. The piece is marked with the the pink Spode Felspar porcelain mark as shown. It is 1.25 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
