Superb Seger Oxblood Vase

This is a really superb and quite rare porcelain vase made by KPM around the late 19th century. The vase has really a nice shape to it with a thin long neck with a deocrative ring in the middle and a wider body. The entire piece is decorated with one of the famous Seger glazes (the oxblood or Sang du Boeuf color ) that has tones of red, blue and purple in it. The isnide is a bluish grey color. The glaze is so well done that it did not pool at the bottom as it often the case. It's a relaly nice example of this rare work! Seger porcelain is very rare and sought after and the Chinese glazes he managed to copy are amazing! Such a deep color and so different from the usual KPM colors - just stunning! The piece is of a nice size being 10.75 inches tall and about 4.5 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the usual scepter mark with his letters underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers, etc. as shown. The piece is in perfect condition.
