Asian Lady Figurine

This is a figurine made by the Schwarzburger Werkstaetten around 1935 when it was first designed. That means she is one of the rare original pieces and not a later Volkstedt re-issue. It is of an Asian lady holding an umbrella for shade in her left hand and a little basket in her right hand. She is dressed in a very colorful yet elegant outfit. Likely meant to be a Japanese lady. The piece is in great condition with the umbrella broken a bit which I had restored perfectly. The figurine is 7.75 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. He is marked with the underglaze blue fox mark as well as U 542 and a 3 underneath. Also the impressed stamp stating Schwarzburger Werkstaetten fuer Porzellankunst. On the back of the base we find the artist initials impressed - for Marta Schlameus who designed the piece. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
