Pfeiffer Putto w/ Natural Horn Figurine #2

This is a fun little figurine made by the Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst in the early 20th century when it was first designed. The figure was modeled by the famous Mauritius Pfeiffer who originally was a sculptor I believe. His pieces are extremely collectible! The figurine is of putto or young boy wearing a hat while blowing a natural horn or hunting horn which was the precursor to the French horn. Nicely modeled and left in the white to show off all that nice detail - quite typical for this maker. A fairly hard to find piece! Raised oval base with the name of the designer impressed into the back as shown. The figure is in perfect condition! The piece is 4.5 inches tall, 2.625 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. It is marked with the under glaze blue fox mark as well as Germany above glaze in blue. Also incised U N. (or A.) I. underneath but it is hard to see unless you shine a light through it. Not sure what that stands for usually the U is followed by a model number. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $149
