Asian with Melon Figurine

This is a superb figurine made by the Schwarzburger Werkstaetten in about 1920 when he was first designed by Martha Schlameus . That means he is one of the rare Schwarzburger Werkstätten original pieces. And also a very typical figurine for them in the style and coloration of the Art Nouveau period. It is an Asian influenced figurine holding a knife after he just finished cutting into a melon he is sitting on. Another melon on the back with some vines still attached. Great base with a gold trim line. The piece is great condition with the knife blade being restored - it was well done! It doesn't take away from it nor does it show when on display! The simple decoration of these figures makes it even more elegant I think! The piece is 8.125 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 5 inches deep. He is marked with the underglaze blue fox mark as well as U 509 - the model number - underneath. Also impressed on the base we find the artist initials MS impressed for Martha Schlameus. It also states Schwarzburger Werkstatten fuer Porzellankunst impressed underneath as well as some sort of red mark which might be a painter's mark. I have the entire set of four of them that look amazing together and are very hard to find. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
